Art Making/Material Exploration #2: Logo Design

  1. I really liked creating my logo, I love natural hair and my natural hair is definitely apart me that's why I choose to focus on that for my logo.
  2.  The process wasn't that complex. I knew I wanted to do some kind of silhouette, so I decided to do my side profile from when I was a little girl. After I sketched the profile I wanted to show one of my favorite hair styles a high puff. Inside the puff I put in different words that describe natural hair(kinky, curly, wavy, coily, nappy, afro, thick, and course) and all of this words have been used to describe my hair at some point in my life.
  3. The most important discovery I made in creating this logo is i'm finally happy expressing myself, I used to think my natural hair wasn't beautiful, and now I know that's not true, and now i'm perfectly okay with being naturally me.
  4. The most important information I learned from watching the videos is you will have many prototypes, and sketches before you get your final product. In the PowerPoint I learned that logo means word and in order to set the foundation stone for a good brand career you have to have a good logo. In the readings I learned that amateurs can create their on advertisements in response to professionally produced work. I thought the videos were very informative, and very interesting they were useful in the process of making my logo.
