I picked these images because I like the shapes, the use of color and 2 of them and I like the simplicity of the Dean Gle Mask.

2. Include the analysis and description (art criticism steps) of the three (3) inspiration pieces.

  • Title of Work:Dean Gle Mask,Media: wood,pigment, Date: Late 19th Early 20th century, Size:9 3/4 x 6 x 3 in. (24.8 x 15.2 x 7.6 cm)

Description 1: I see a black mask with oval lips, almond shaped outline of eyes, and a long nose, the chin is somewhat pointed.
Description 2: I see a circle shaped mask, the eyelids are red and yellow, the mask has a whole which looks like a mouth at the bottom of the mask the mask is black.
Description 3: I see a square shaped mask, its the light blue/sky blue, with the color navy blue, white, and red as accent colors.
Analysis 1- The principles and elements that were used are Empahis in the lips and a element would be Shape because of the shape of the chin.
Analysis 2- Principle would be the movement of the colors that are used and the element would be the shape of the eyes
Analysis 3- Principle used is pattern because of the design of the mask, the element used is color because of the vibrant colors used.
3. Upload images of your sketches and finished piece.

4. Explain how you used the Elements and Principles in your finished mask.

  • In my mask I used color, texture, shapes, lines, patterns and movement.
5. Share your opinion of your finished mask and what you thought about creating the mask.

  • I really like my mask I feel like its goofy and playful side to it,I really like the movement of the pink hair and the texture of the ears. I thought it was fun creating this mask.
